Are you looking to buy a house, but don't know where to start? Are you tired of never having enough money or living paycheck to paycheck? You may be interested in two educational classes provided by OLHSA: homebuyer education and financial education.

Homebuyer education classes feature topics such as credit, budgeting, maintenance and information about the mortgage approval and closing processes. Financial education classes discuss credit repair, financial emergencies, saving to build assets, budget and identity theft.

Classes are always free and if you attend a certain, required amount of classes in a row you can receive a Michigan State Housing Development Authority (MSHDA) certificate of competion. Having the certificate is a requirement for MSHDA home loan products and tother programs, including Habitat ofr Humanity homes. Various mortgage lenders are also requiring certification of completing classes before approving a mortgage. There are usually classes going on every month.
