Tell us a little bit about yourself!

What is your favorite hobby? I like to shop, relax by listening to music, and cook for my family.

What is your favorite color? Pink and purple

What is your favorite TV show? I don’t watch a lot of TV so I don’t really have a favorite, but I enjoy watching movies with my family.

What is one word to describe you? Busy

Tell us a little about your personal breastfeeding experience(s): I have 4 children, but I only breastfed 3 of my children. I ended up not breastfeeding my youngest due to some complications during a C-section. I enjoyed my experience breastfeeding.

What is your favorite part about being a breastfeeding peer counselor? I like this job because it does not feel like a job, it's just a conversation. I like sharing my experience, working through problems, and relating to mothers when I talk with them. My clients become my friends and they can share things with me that aren’t necessarily about breastfeeding, but about being a mom.

What is one thing you would like everyone to know about breastfeeding? Breastfeeding is not always easy, but it’s always worth it. Motherhood is hard work, but the bond created by breastfeeding lasts forever.

Do you have any words of wisdom for the moms, grandparents, friends, etc. reading this post? Please don’t push mom down, always tell her that she is a great mom and that she is doing wonderful work. Help her feel supported in her decision to breastfeed. If the house is a mess or a meal needs cooked, don’t blame the breastfeeding mom, help her! Encourage, support, and help her out.
