About OLHSA

Oakland Livingston Human Service Agency (OLHSA) is a Community Action Agency formed in 1964 as part of President Lyndon B. Johnson's War on Poverty. OLHSA supports Oakland and Livingston County residents that are looking for assistance in removing the burdens of poverty. We provide individually tailored, wrap-around assistance for all individuals and families in need of help.

2-Day Homebuyer Education Webinar - September 9 & 10, 2024 5-8 pm BOTH NIGHTS

This is an interactive webinar for Oakland & Livingston County, Michigan residents.  It will be held September 9 & 10, 2024 at 5-8 pm BOTH NIGHTS. The webinar is conducted in partnership with professionals from the banking and real estate industries.  We provide information and activities to help you understand, and be prepared for, the home buying process; including working with real estate agents, inspections, appraisals, different loan options, down payment assistance, credit and mortgage approval, and closing documents. 

We recommend you have a pen or pencil, paper, and calculator to fully complete the activities in this webinar.  Join us and learn about the homebuying process; topics include:

  • Credit
  • Budgeting
  • Savings
  • Down payment assistance
  • Mortgage approval and closing
  • Home search
  • Plus more!

A MSHDA Certificate of Completion will be provided to those who attend all 6 hours of the class AND actively participate in class.  Must be a current Oakland or Livingston County Resident to attend.  Online registration is required. Registration closes, and Zoom links will be sent, approximately 1-2 business days prior to the webinar. REGISTRATION CLOSES September 6, 2024.
