OLHSA’s 24th Annual Walk for Warmth Recap Posted: February 28, 2014

Dancing, balloons, free t-shirts; what more can you ask for? OLHSA hosted its 24th annual Walk for Warmth events on February 8 and 22 and participants had a great time! The community-favorite event was once again sponsored by Genisys Credit Union. Events in Oakland and Livingston Counties had a great turn out with around 1,300 walkers, sponsors and volunteers joining us. 100 percent of funds raised support emergency utility assistance, helping to keep our friends and neighbors warm throughout the winter.

So far this year, OLHSA’s Walk for Warmth has raised over $130,000 and funds continue to come in. We hope to reach our goal of $180,000 after all funds are accounted for. We were fortunate to have dozens of sponsors and hundreds of individual donors.

It’s not quite over yet! We still need around $48,000 to meet our goal of $180,000 and we accept donations for Walk for Warmth and utility assistance throughout the year. To give to OLHSA’s Walk for Warmth, go to www.olhsa.org/walk4warmth, ‘sign up to walk or help,’ choose your county then select General Donation.
