OLHSA, in partnership with Catholic Social Services and St. Joseph Mercy Oakland is now offering a program to help navigate the new Health Insurance Marketplace. The program, called Help with Health Insurance, is a free service that pairs you with a certified Marketplace Navigator, explains the Affordable Care Act, and helps sign you up for health insurance through the marketplace (heathcare.gov).

Did you know health insurance is attainable for us all?

  • Better protection for your family’s health and financial future
  • More reliable health insurance that saves you money
  • No more copayments for preventative care: You and everyone on your plan can now get preventative services like vaccinations, diabetes checks, Pap tests, mammograms, and birth control at no cost.
  • Coverage for adult children: Your kids can stay on your plan until they turn 26.
  • Protects your money: There are now safeguards to prevent unfair increases in your health insurance premiums.
  • Medicare prescription savings: If you have Medicare and high drug costs, you will get additional discounts on your medications every year.
  • Thanks to the Marketplace, no matter where you live, you may buy insurance from private health plans that cover a comprehensive set of benefits, including doctor visits, hospital stays, preventative care, and prescriptions.
  • Plans must treat you fairly; they cannot deny you coverage because of a pre-existing condition.
  • Insurance companies can’t discriminate against adults because they are or were sick; they have to cover you anyway.
  • Your plan can’t cut you off and stop covering your health care costs if you or someone in your family gets sick.Want
